Just want to share with you my solution to passwords! It’s KeyPass Password Safe and it’s FREE because it’s open source!
Most of us uses different passwords for different accounts. You need a password for your computer logon, your e-mail accounts, banks, member accounts, etc. etc. etc. The list is endless. Also, I suggest that you should use different passwords for each account. Because if you use only one password everywhere and someone gets your password you have a serious problem! Imagine someone hacking your bank accounts, Facebook, emails, etc.
Oh, did I also mention to use difficult passwords? No, dog1 is not a difficult password neither Yellow2. You have to use cryptic words if possible. I’ll share with you next time how to use cryptic passwords but easy to remember.
Also, please stop writing your password on a Post-It and hiding it under your keyboard or worst, sticking it on th side of your monitor thinking someone won’t find it. We have many of that in the office!
“KeePass is a free open source password manager, which helps you to manage your passwords in a secure way. You can put all your passwords in one database, which is locked with one master key or a key file. So you only have to remember one single master password or select the key file to unlock the whole database. The databases are encrypted using the best and most secure encryption algorithms currently known (AES and Twofish).” – source: http://keepass.info/
