I said “First” Largest because I read here that Japan has the biggest LV store now..
“With a retail space of 1,800 square meters, the Louis Vuitton store in 101 Champs-Elysées, Paris is the world’s largest luxury boutique. In it, the women’s and men’s collections of leather goods, ready-to-wear, shoes, jewelry and writing tools are on offer, enhanced by the all-new collection of Louis Vuitton eyewear.” (Source: lvmh.com)
What you see above is their front store display. A carousel or I should say, a mini ferris wheel of new LV bags of the season!
When I visited this store the place was packed! So another option is to go to Galeries Lafayette after. Some women do not only buy one but in multiples and they were mostly women from all over the world!
Here’s a tip: Visitors from outside the EU are entitled to get a refund of VAT paid on goods they have purchased during their stay in the EU provided that the goods are produced to Customs on departure from the EU together with the VAT refund documents. These documents are normally prepared by the merchant from whom the goods have been purchased, and the refund is made directly by the merchant, rather than the customs service. (source: http://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/common/travellers/leave_eu/index_en.htm). I believe that this applies for purchases over $175.01. In short, for purchases over 175.01 Euros, non-European Union members are entitled to a tax refund! Just bring your passport and show it upon purchase!
“Do you know that Louis Vuitton is slightly cheaper in France and Italy compared to the US? Just imagine that plus the tax refund you get. That’s great savings!”
