It started with me just looking for that perfect lunch bag and somehow I end up looking for eco-friendly grocery bags. So after hours and hours of finding the right shopping bag I end up with this list – and they’re the coolest!
1. The ever famous Anya Hindmarch, “I’m Not a Plastic Bag” eco-friendly “IT” bag. – This is going to be my lunch bag!
Anywa Hindmarch is a London-based, English Fashion Accessories designer better known for designing bags that range from a few thousand of dollars and more. What made this eco-friendly shopping bag a hit was when Whole Foods stores in New York started selling these $15 cotton bags. The limited edition canvas totes were sold in only 5 colors: Brown (UK), Navy/Blue (US), Grey (Hong Kong or Asia), Green (Japan) and Lavender/Purple (the special edition made for the Lavender Trust for Breast Cancer fundraising). At such a low price, 100,000 customers registered online to try to buy I’m Not A Plastic Bag (source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anya_Hindmarch) while several hundreds or maybe several thousands of this bag were sold out shortly immediately after launch.
I live in LA but unfortunately I have no idea where to buy this bag so I had to go to Ebay to buy my authentic shopping bag. Here’s where I bought Authentic Anya Hindmarch I’m Not a Plastic Bag
Speaking of authentic, beware of many fake Anya Hindmarch shopping bags. The whole purpose of this bag being so cheap is not to save the planet single-handedly – the purpose was to emphasize an important issue. Here’s the link how to spot a fake Anya Hindmarch I’m Not a Plastic Bag.
2. Sachi Shop, Pack & Go Set with Market Totes. It may not have the best variety of colors available but style, function and convenience are more important than ever with this convenient pack-and-go system.
I bought my pack-and-go-system bag from this ebay seller in Red Chevron style: Sachi Shop, Pack & Go Set with Market Totes. You can also buy it on Amazon here
3. Green/Fresh/Daily/Crisp Local Shopping Bags by Neiko Designs
4. On the other hand, Souve appears to carry many of the coolest shopping bags. Only one small catch — they are based in Munich, Germany. Wish they are available here in Los Angeles!
and of course.., the “No Clue” and “Think Rich Look Poor” shopping bags I also love!
